On 19 December 2025, we welcomed Sir Peter Cook to HKU for “Piquant Motivations”, part of the Faculty of Architecture’s 75th Anniversary Public Lecture Series. Held in the Knowles Building, the evening brought together students, alumni and friends to hear one of architecture’s most inventive voices reflect on what energises design today.
A founder of Archigram, currently director of Peter Cook Studio, and a lifelong champion of experimental thinking, Sir Cook spoke about curiosity, play and the delight of pushing form and function beyond the expected—reminding us that architecture is a living culture of ideas as much as it is a collection of buildings.
